Pet Care During the Coronavirus Outbreak
We keep a very close eye on the news and monitor announcements from local, state and national government as well as healthcare experts and providers. In particular, we closely monitor those news and information services that also provide information about the health and well-being of our pets.
With the Coronavirus (COVID-19) reaching pandemic levels, many questions have surfaced about whether or not pets are susceptible to the virus. The World Health Organization (via the World Organisation of Animal Health) has issued a statement on ther website which indicates that "the current spread of COVID-19 is a result of human to human transmission. To date, there is no evidence that companion animals can spread the disease. Therefore, there is no justification in taking measures against companion animals which may compromise their welfare."
More information (constantly updated) can be found here.
With this news, we strongly encourage pet owners to maintain as much sense of normalcy with their furry companions as possible. That includes a typical daily regimen (animals thrive with regularity and order) of walks, care and feeding.
